Glass Flower Marbles

One of the things I concentrated on when I first started glassblowing was glass flower marbles.  Something about watching them grow inside the glass was so captivating to me. I love my own work of course, but I've been inspired by many other artists along the way.

Glass Flower Marble Artists Worth Checking Out

John Kobuki

John Kobuki was my original inspiration to get into making flower marbles. He did a demo at the Corning Museum of Glass that is in my opinion the best demo anyone has ever done for the glassblowing world. Not only was it where I learned the technique I use to make my marbles, I still go back to it and learn new things. He explains every step along the way and the camera work is fantastic.

You can see some of his work here.

Matt Kelley

I've spoken to Matt several times on Instagram, you can find his website here. He's really evolved over the years, I remember when he was doing very basic designs, and he's gotten better every year. He's not only evolved in his flower marble work, he's done some cold working as well, creating faceted marbles that act like a kaleidoscope.

Tomomi Handa

Tomomi is possibly the most technically skilled glass flower marble artist out there, creating impossible detailed marbles that are like worlds within worlds. Based in Japan, her marbles are highly sought after and usually very hard to get your hands on. Consider yourself lucky if you can acquire one of her exquisite works!

Daniel Bourgeois

And of course there's me! Haha you can purchase my work here.
