Orion
Recently, I felt inspired to make a glass galaxy pendant based on the constellation Orion. It's always been one of the most recognizable constellations to me, and for some reason more captivating then others like the big dipper. Wikipedia actually has a really good article on it that I used to get most of my info on Orion the Hunter.
He had numerous adventures, including a hunt with the Gods Artemis and Leto, during which he said he would kill every animal on earth. The Earth objected and sent a scorpion to kill Orion. After his death, Zeus sent him into the heavens to be a constellation for all time. The scorpion was likewise enshrined as the constellation Scorpius.

Significance to Ancient Cultures
The constellation that makes up Orion has actually been many things to many different cultures. So I guess I'm not the only one who felt a connection to it. In ancient Babylonia he was known as "The Heavenly Shepherd", and in ancient Egypt this constellation was associated with the god Sah. Even the bible mentions Orion several times, notably in Job 38:31 "Can you bind the Pleiades or loosen Orion's belt?"In Greek Mythology
