Space Glass Artists

So since I covered flower marble artists in the last blog, I figure it's only fair that we go over some of my favorite space glass artists as well. Many of these artists have inspired me to go a little further with my own work, or have just been a good person to talk to when I needed advice on this or that.

Space Glass Artists to Look Out for

Charlie Shoulders

I've been following Charlie for years, and I ended up reaching out to him when we both started working for Spirit Pieces. I really love the way he's combined metalwork with glass, fusing two art forms to create something beautiful and classic. I hope to do something similar eventually! You can find his work on Etsy.

Sean Clayton

Sean creates some of the most jaw-dropping galaxy marbles out there. He creates pieces that are worlds within worlds, they're pure cosmic magic. I've been studying his work for years, and looking at his pieces has pushed my own work to new levels. He's really set the standard for space glass marbles. He also has an Etsy shop.

Carl Sagan

Carl has no connection to the famous astronomer (that I know of), but he is famous in his own right in the glassblowing world. He has the honor of having once sold a pipe for $100,000 (pictured above)!! He makes pendants as well, but what is so impressive to me about his work is the exquisite textures in his work. His glass moons have all the craters and fine wrinkles that our own moon has captured in glass form.

I honestly don't know how to buy Carl's work, perhaps that is part of what makes his work so valuable. But you can find him on Instagram

Gateson Recko

Gateson is one of the few glass artists who does stuff I don't even understand. Most glass artists I can reverse engineer their work, but I honestly have no idea how Gateson creates his super realistic textures. Amazing stuff, you can find his website here

If you know of a space glass artist I haven't mentioned please feel free to comment below! And check out one of my space glass pieces here.
